Roberto Fonseca - Jazz in Marciac
Roberto Fonseca Roberto Fonseca piano, claviers Joe Lovano saxophone Yandy Martinez contrebasse, basse Ruly Herrera batterie Andres Coayo Batista percussions Omara Portuondo voix Mayra Andrade voix Rossio Jimenez Blanco chœur Like all musicians born in Cuba and having grown-up in Havana, Roberto Fonseca came out of school ready for work. This multi-disciplinary aptitude enabled numerous projects and encounters. His contribution to Latin music was to have extended his roots into contemporary expression, often with instrumentation closer to that of modern jazz, and this, whilst not losing one ounce of poetry. Because it really is this capacity to make his public dream which characterises this composer/singer/arranger that his female admirers recognise from afar because of the hat which never leaves him and close up by the harmonious lines of his face. Adding on successes in Marciac like so many pearls on his musical necklace, Roberto Fonseca could almost stake claim to having the status of an event organiser. Using ingredients which guarantee his artistic longevity in the domain of Afrocubanism, he put on stage a new group of which the guests are Omara Portuondo, Mayra Andrade, Joe Lovano and an orchestra of pupils from the conservatoires of the Occitanie Region, conducted by Jean-Pierre Peyrebelle. Enregistré le 06 août 2019 ā Jazz in Marciac Réalisateur, .

Archie Shepp All star 'Tribute to John Coltrane'
Archie Shepp, musical direction, saxophones Ambrose Akinmusire, trumpet Jason Moran, piano Richard Davis, double bass Billy Hart, drums With guests: Marion Rampal, voice Izidor Leitinger, trumpet Sébastien Llado, trombone Jean-Philippe Scali, baritone saxophone Playlist Naima - John Coltrane - Arranged by Izidor Leitinger Cousin Mary - John Coltrane - Arranged by Izidor Leitinger Blasé - Archie Shepp Prelude to a Kiss - Duke Ellington Los Olvidados - Archie Shepp In 1960, Archie Shepp attended a concert by John Coltrane at the Five Spot, the mythical club on the Lower East Side. Totally fascinated, he decided to pick up the tenor saxophone. Five years later, Shepp - already a reference in the world of free jazz - recorded alongside his hero. The resulting album, 'Ascension', was released in 1966, and remains today one of the great monuments of free improvisation. To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Coltrane's death - at the age of forty - the most Parisian representative of the New York avant-garde pays tribute to the brilliant composer of 'A Love Supreme', with a Franco-American all-star band not unlike that which recorded the revolutionary 'Ascension'. A giant of jazz pays tribute to one of his gods. Recorded on September 3rd 2016 at the Grande Halle of la Villette TV Director, Frank Cassentit.
