Dialogues des Carmélites by Francis Poulenc at the Bavarian Opera
Dialogues des Carmelites, by Francis Poulenc Kent Nagano (direction) Dmitri Tcherniakov (stage direction) Alain Vernhes (Marquis de la Force), Blanche Gritton (Blanche de la Force), Bernard Richter (Chevalier de la Force), Felicity Palmer (Madame de Croissy), Soile Isokoski (Madame Lidoine), Susanne Resmark (Mère Marie), Hélène Guilmette (Soeur Constance), Heike Grotzinger (Soeur Mathilde), Bayerisches Staatsorchester Recorded at Nationaltheater, Munich, 2010 In his 1957 opera Dialogues des Carmélites, French composer Francis Poulenc sets revolution and religion on a collision course: young Blanche de la Force, haunted from birth by panic attacks, seeks refuge in the isolation of a convent, where she hopes to overcome her torturous fear of life. Her entry into the Order of the Carmelites and her conversations with the other nuns strengthen her and her faith, but the fear remains. The French Revolution does not stop at the walls of the convent and prohibits the nuns from carrying out the rules of their order. They rise in opposition, even accepting a martyr's death rather than give in. All except Blanche - she flees again, terrified of death. The steadfastness with which the sisters face their martyrdom rescues Blanche from her anxiety. Fearlessly, she follows them to the gallows. .

Sadeh 21 by Ohad Naharin | Batsheva - The young Ensemble Ohad Naharin, Théâtre national de Chaillot
Sadeh 21 Choreography, Ohad Naharin Lights and scenography, Avi Yona Bueno (Bambi) Music, Maxim Waratt Costume, Ariel Cohen Video surtitling, Raz Friedman With Batsheva - The young Ensemble Ohad Naharin The Young Ensemble is a nursery for young performers coming from the four corners of the globe, some of whom will go on to swell the ranks of the Batsheva Danse Company. But as far as Ohad Naharin is concerned, it is also and above all a class of excellence : the proof through Sadeh21, one of the major pieces of the Batsheva 's repertoire. Created by Ohad Naharin in collaboration with his dancers, Sadeh21 shows movement in its simple nakedness. Dance, with slowing down effects and sudden accelerations takes on the look of a quasi cinematographic odyssey : 'a journey by body'.Sadeh21in the end turns out to be one of the most endearing pieces amongst those by Maestro Naharin. Speaking of experience 'Radiating and radioactive, dangerous and exciting', the artistic director of the Batsheva gets it right. Everything in Sadeh21 is exceptional. To the point that this choreography, acclaimed from its beginnings, plunges the spectator into a unique emotional state. An effect of pleasure and addiction are guaranteed. Recorded on October 21, 2018 at the Théâtre national de la Danse Chaillot TV Director, Tommy Pascal.

Guillaume Perret - Jazz à Vienne
Guillaume Perret Guillaume Perret, saxophone, machines The saxophonist from Annecy (born in 1980) racked up the pressure on the contemporary jazz scene (from 2009) with his group The Electric Epic. Three years later and John Zorn himself described it as 'a whirlwind of emotion' and released the extravert, panoramic and electric fusion on his Tzadik record label. It was an explosion of sound with funky beats and quirky harmonies blending metal, electro, Africa, psychedelia and the hot wind of free style. After two incredible albums with Electric Epic, Guillaume Perret is going it alone with his new album Free (2016). Perret's sense of solitude is comparable to Deleuze's opening to Mille Plateaux: 'Since there were many of all of us, there were already too many people.' You can spot the almost symphonic ramped-up saxophone and the deafening rhythmic loops that make Guillaume Perret multiple, all-encompassing and so spectacular. Recorded on 2017, July 13th at the Jazz Festival in Vienne TV Director, Nicolas Micha .

Tom Harrell feat. Esperanza Spalding - Jazz à Vienne
Jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, conductor and Stanford University graduate Tom Harrell is often described as a 'pure melodic genius'. Apart from his 27 albums and hundreds of concerts as a frontman, the Illinois-born trumpeter has worked with the greatest names in jazz. He is on tour this year with an innovative sextet, 'Colors of a Dream', refining even further the 'piano-less' concept: a trumpet, two saxophones, two basses (one of them also a singer) and drums. We have Wayne Escoffery, Ugonna Okegwo and Jonathan Blake, three regular members of his quintet, and two newcomers: alto saxophonist Jaleel Shaw and the mesmerizing Esperanza Spalding playing bass and singing.
